The Big Mouth Off is the final contest in massmouth’s sixth Greater Boston story slam season.
We’re talking the best of the BEST our 6th Big Mouth Off on Thursday, April 30th, 2015.
Teachers, artists, computer specialists, librarians, IT specialists, a lawyer and a few local MOTH story slam winners all walk into a bar. No. Into a theater… to take the stage in our season VI finale.
They will be telling true stories on massmouth’s Greater Boston Story Slams themes for 2014-2015 which featured short stories on: nuts, mistaken identity, family tree, perfect storm, shelter, lust, leap of faith, games people play, near death, culture shock, beginner’s luck, power trip, like family, naked, date night, and game over

All profits from this event go to the winners in our high school scholarship slam.
What is a Story Slam? A story slam is a contest of stories on a set theme by known and undiscovered talent. Themes are posted soon at our slam page and story slammers sign up on the night to tell a 5-minute short story on the evening’s theme. Ten names are drawn at random. A team of 5 volunteer judges – interested amateurs, storytellers, and members of the audience who love stories who evaluate how well each story is told, how well it is constructed, how well the story explores, connects and/or reveals some truth about the theme and, how much story is created within the time limit. Highest-scoring tellers are awarded prizes and an opportunity to move up in competition and perhaps perform at the “BigMouthOff” at the at the end of story slam season VI in April, 2015.
