The Great Invisible | Boston Screening
April 23, 2015 @ 6:45 pm - 9:30 pm
$10On April 20, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded killing 11 crew members and setting off the largest oil spill in American history. For almost three months, oil poured into the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean devastating the ecosystem and the surrounding communities.
Five years later, the impacts of the Deepwater Horizon spill are still being felt. In The Great Invisible, Filmmaker Margaret Brown travels to small towns and major cities across Alabama, Louisiana and Texas exploring the fallout of this environmental disaster. Via first-hand accounts, Brown’s film reveals how we are all still haunted by the Deepwater Horizon explosion, long after the story has faded from the front page.
Join Ceres for a private screening of this powerful film at the Coolidge Corner Theater on April 23rd at 6:45pm. A discussion about how we can get off oil with Ceres President Mindy Lubber will follow the film. – See more here
