Renaissance Men are thrilled to announce their spring concert series: RenMen Branches! Surveying time-honored men’s music traditions, starting in the church and ending at the pub.

Our third series will take you on a journey from the church to the tavern – and everywhere in between. After a deeper understanding of where we came from locally, these concerts will survey some of the men’s music heritages from across the globe. With a particular focus on the German Männerchortradition, you may want to pay attention to our program booklet for translations, or bring a German friend! We will perform haunting and impactful works by Grieg, Rachmaninoff, Carillo, Rheinberger, Strauss, Schubert, and Reger. To incorporate the British singing society tradition we will also be presenting the Six Choral Folk Songs by Gustov Holst, which includes the transcendent “I Love my Love.” Our program will conclude with a set of drinking songs from times past and present.
