On-camera Puppetry Intensive @ BIG
July 12, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
$195With Ronald Binion
Saturday, 10:00 am – 4:00pm @ Brookline Interactive Group Studio
Cost: $195
About the Class: Learn the skills and artistry of on-camera puppetry from a leading industry professional in a fun and supportive environment. During this 3-day intensive, participants will discover how to create nuanced, expressive characters through a series of manipulation exercises with mouth-and-rod-style (“Muppet-Style”) puppets. We will then work together to devise, script, and record short scenes, constantly refining work through group presentation and critique. Throughout the class, we will emphasize strategies for creative collaboration in a professional environment while covering real-world television production skills such as using a flipped-image monitor and puppet assisting. This is a great class for puppeteers looking to build their TV puppetry skills, or for anyone looking to explore the creative potential of this media.
This is an intermediate-level class: prior experience with puppetry, media production, or performing arts is requested, although past work with on-camera puppetry is not required. Questions about class content may be directed to Roxanna Myhrum, artistic director: artistic@puppetshowplace.org
