2026 Brookline Village Arts Festival Participant FAQs

The Brookline Village Arts Festival will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, from 11am-5pm, (with a rain date of May 3rd) for the Artist and Maker marketplace on Station Street, and from 4:30-7:30 for the Music Variety Show on Pearl Street. Rain date of is May 3rd, 2026.

In 2026 the event will be held on Station Street in Brookline Village which will be closed to traffic, and the live music program at the end of the day will take place on the small park on Pearl Street, across the tracks at the T Station on Station Street.

Each artist gets one 10’x10′ space, or half of a 10’x10′ space if they are sharing. Tents, tent weights and tables are not included and should be provided by the artists. Tents are optional.

Each artist also gets their own artists page on the ArtsBrookline website. This page includes your profile, images of your work and links to your social media and/or website for the public to view.

Every participant who registers for the festival is featured on the Brookline Village Arts Festival artist gallery, where your uploaded images are displayed.

In addition, each artist gets their own artists page on the ArtsBrookline website for one year. This page includes your profile photo, artist statement, images of your work and links to your social media and/or website for the public to view.

You will need a tent (if using), tent weights, tables and props. ArtsBrookline will be providing a water station outside of the lobby at 9-21 Station Street. We will also be available to help you watch your tent if you need to use the bathroom facilities.

Due to the potential wind hazard heavy weights are required. Each tent must have a 35+ lb. weight for EACH tent leg to protect the safety of everyone. ArtsBrookline will be monitoring each tent, and if artists do not have weights, they will be asked to take down their tent or forfeit their space. All participants should read the TENT WEIGHT REQUIREMENT on this PDF.

Artists are responsible for accepting payments on their own behalf. Please come prepared to accept payments via cash, card, or Venmo / Cash App.

Please bring a refillable water bottle. We will be providing water for all vendors, located in the lobby of the 9-21 Station Street.

BVAF is a carry in/carry out policy for trash. There will be no trash bins available as we will be saving the public trash cans for patron use only. Let’s leave Brookline Village as beautiful as we found it, so please plan accordingly.

BVAF is not responsible for lost/stolen items. We encourage artists to support each other and keep an eye on each other’s things. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the day of the event. We look forward to seeing you soon!

You will receive your location information prior to the event.  ArtsBrookline will provide at least two on-site representatives as you enter Station Street who can assist you with your specific location information. Please look for your assigned space marked on the street and sidewalks to set up. At the beginning and the end of the event, we will have people helping with unloading and pushing up/taking down tents.

The street will be clear of parkers. While you may arrive earlier, official set up begins at 9 am when the road is barricaded to allow only artists through and all cars must be removed by 10:30am. All vendors must have completed setup by 11am.

Please give yourself plenty of time prior to the event to set up. If arriving by car you should drop off your tents/tables and inventory, and then immediately move your car off the street. Cars must be removed from the
street before tents and tables are set up because we must keep a lane clear for fire trucks/ambulances should there be an emergency in any of the buildings.

We ask that nobody disassemble their display before 5pm. After 5pm artist vehicles will be able to enter Station Street to pick up their things, which must be packed and ready to go before bringing your car to load. Please do not pull up your car until your stuff is all packed up and ready to be picked up to reduce congestion on StationStreet. Station Street will be opened to vehicle traffic and parking at 6 pm.

Sidewalks must be kept clear at all times to maintain a 4’ passing area.  Artist spaces must remain a minimum of 4’ away from the handicap ramp that accesses the T station.

Yes, there will be at least two ArtsBrookline representatives helping with set up and break down the day of the event. In addition, ArtsBrookline will be available at the top of the street in their own event tent for any questions throughout the day. They will also be available to watch your tent while you run to the bathroom or get water.

They can also show you the location of vendor restrooms and ADA accessible restrooms.

Feet of Clay (21 Station St), will be open all day for vendors to use the restroom (non ADA accessible).  Walk in the front door (red door), straight down the hallway to the end, and the bathroom will be on the left.  For an ADA accessible restroom, please look for a representative, or go to the ArtsBrookline tent at the top of the street so they can take you to the accessible restroom located on the second floor.

We will be providing water for all vendors, located in the lobby of the 9-21 Station Street. Please bring your refillable water bottle.

We want the BVAF to attract as much of the greater community as possible! We have a spectacular designer and a broad social media campaign. There will be a guide to social promotion after registration. Arts Brookline will be printing flyers and brochures/maps and they will be made available for distribution to all of the artists.

There will be parking on Station Street past the road barrier and then along Kent Street. Also the Kent Street parking lot is open to anyone on the weekends. There are other lots nearby but people will need to keep making sure they renew the parking after the parking hours limit.

We are hoping for good weather, but if we do need to postpone the event to Sunday (May 3) for weather reasons, we will let you know by Friday (May 1) at 2PM. Please check your emails to make sure you are informed with up-to-date information. In the event of a postponement due to weather, the website will be updated to share this information with the public.

Registration is closed, but feel free to register for our waiting list. Register on the BVAF event page. Please be aware that if you register after March 15th, your name will not appear on the printed maps or materials.
